GET YOUR QECO RATING !!!
Once you are hired by the board as an Occasional Teacher it would be in your best financial interest if you immediately apply for your up-to-date QECO rating (Program 5).
QECO requires proof of employment and your first pay cheque stub to provide that information.
Casual (daily) OT's do not require a QECO rating for their pay, but an LTO does. If you do an LTO, then your pay would be attached to the etfo local grid and you would need a QECO rating for your correct placement.
Sometimes QECO takes a while to evaluate a member and it would be advisable to get a rating as soon as possible. You can download a QECO application and get all necessary information by visiting the QECO website
The sooner you do it, the better!
Don't get caught in a situation where you may find yourself getting underpaid because you do not have all the proper documentation.
